Threading Place
Threading Place is a site-specific visual-art project. Through the mediums of photography and field recording, it uncovers the varied interpersonal connections that form the backbone of rural communities in Co. Wicklow. Further, it discovers the places that are vital to their well-being.

The exhibition was a collaboration between photographer Finn Richards and
architectural practice Cineál Research & Design.​
The project exhibition was staged outdoors in three public spaces in Wicklow Town. Viewers could engage with the photography, visually and sonically.
The photographs represent threads of social connection that exist in Co. Wicklow. Each thread begins from a connection to the photographer and then extends outwards, exploring a real social thread.
Given the diversity of the people and places photographed - the aim of the project was to begin a renewed conversation within the locality. Who is in the community? What are their shared values? How would the community encourage and support new connections?
